Aurora was Oregon's first
National Historic District and has been an antiques center since the
early 1970's. (The first stores began here in the 1950's).
Known as Oregon's Antique Capital, the entire downtown area is given
over to welcoming visitors to the historic buildings filled with
antiques and specialty shops. There are approximately 25 shops
plus eateries. The popular Old Aurora Colony Museum consists of
five colony buildings including two colony homes, completely furnished.
The museum has wonderful collections of distinctive colony furniture and
excellent textiles including quilts.
Every season is reflected in a
variety of local harvests throughout the year...from fields of flowers
and berries, orchards of fruits, hazelnuts and fall foliage to selecting
the perfect holiday tree.
